It’s hard to get back in the game with so much on your mind…
Maybe you’re stressed and anxious over things you can’t control. Are you sadly getting used to that queasy pit in your stomach?
Or maybe uncertainty constantly looms over you, making it hard to focus. Do you ever suddenly realize that your jaw is tense from the clenching?
Have you lost the energy and motivation to do the things you used to enjoy—like hanging out with friends or working out?
You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and run down, yet sleep doesn’t come easy.
Instead, things pile up in your mind as you stare at the ceiling, trying to make sense of it all:
Am I not good enough?
Why don’t they like me?
Are they going to ghost me?
What if I’m late?
I’m so behind at work!
I have a big day tomorrow…
You’ve been coping with distraction after distraction…
But you’re beginning to realize that they only provide temporary relief.
Do you feel like the breaking point is near?
If you’re struggling to find balance in life, whether it’s maintaining relationships, holding up at work, or taking care of yourself…
It’s time to reach out for support.
I’m here to quiet the chatter…
I am passionate about working with people in their twenties and thirties who are overwhelmed by anxiety and depression.
We’ll identify your strengths and then work together to develop realistic strategies to address your worries.
First, we’ll define the problem: What’s causing you this distress? We’ll then figure out the best way to address it, evaluating the pros and cons of various approaches and considering best- and worst-case scenarios. We’ll then select and implement a plan that’s right for you and your life.
I believe in the healing power of energy, muscle relaxation, meditation, mindful movement, and breathwork. The mind is such a powerful tool. If you’re comfortable with it, I’d love to teach you calming, relaxation techniques to reduce the frequency and intensity of your anxiety. We hold so much stress and tension in our bodies. It’s almost like our body is tensing our muscles as a defense mechanism to guard the pain away.
I’ll often ask, “What does that look like for you?” because it allows me to view your life from a different lens and perspective.
I want this to be a reflective process for both of us!
Creating a safe, inclusive, judgment-free environment…
Therapy may seem a little scary, but let me show you that it can be comfortable…
I want to separate YOU from what brings you to therapy. I want to learn all about you—to know you for YOU: what your passions are, how you enjoy spending your time, and what brings you joy. What is your story?
In this space, you will feel validated, listened to, and accepted for who you are, regardless of whatever you’re bringing with you to this therapeutic experience.
As we dig deeper into the root causes of what’s causing you anxiety, it may feel heavy, scary, or uncertain. We may bring things out that you’ve been bottling up for a long time. But now, you finally have the time and space to express what you’ve been holding back.
We’re going to work as a team!
You’ll learn new coping strategies for your mental wellness toolbox—tools you can use when you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or worried. In times, you’ll replace unhealthy coping mechanisms with habits that sustain your needs.
I’ll teach you how to become aware of your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs, and we’ll work together to find balance in all the areas of your life. A big part of this will be learning how to establish and maintain healthy boundaries.
I believe that we can only squeeze so much into our sessions each week, so it is important that you work on yourself in the time we’re apart. Whether we mutually decide on “homework” that will benefit you somehow, or I send you off with some words of encouragement, I hope you will invest yourself fully into this experience.
Some of my education and training…
I received my bachelor’s degree in social work and sociology at Central Michigan University. I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan, specializing in mental health.
During my graduate work, I worked in an outpatient mental health setting, providing individual therapy and running mindfulness groups in the Detroit area.
I utilize several evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions in my practice, like cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches.
When I am not doing therapy…
I find joy listening to music, playing piano, singing, and enjoying concerts with friends and loved ones.
I love learning about astrology, practicing yoga, and buying new crystals for my growing collection.
I also enjoy hammocking in nature, reading psychological thrillers, listening to true crime podcasts, and walking my dog, Scooter.
When I have free time or visit new places, I love finding local coffee shops to support and explore. You’ll rarely see me in session without a mug in my hand 🙂
It’s time to show up for yourself…
I am here to be your constant cheerleader and support system while you dig through the mess to be the best version of yourself.
Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone and do the work of discovering your authentic self?
